We began the session at the iconic Montage, where manicured grounds, ocean views, and refined architecture create the perfect setting for elevated, editorial style portraits. One of the best parts of engagement sessions is incorporating meaningful moments. On the way down to the beach, we stopped for ice cream, which happens to be the groom’s favorite.
This quick stop brought such a fun and relaxed energy into the session. Laughing over melting cones, walking together, and just enjoying the moment created images that feel genuine and full of personality. These are often the photos couples connect with the most because they reflect real life.

We ended the evening at the beach just in time for golden hour. Laguna Beach at sunset is hard to beat, with warm light, soft waves, and glowing reflections that create a cinematic atmosphere.
This is where the documentary style really shines. Instead of heavy direction, the focus shifted to letting the couple interact naturally. Walking along the shoreline, sharing quiet moments, and embracing as the sun dipped lower created images full of movement and emotion.
